The pizzas in the first four photos are shockingly lacking in olives, because I forgot to put them on. I was out of black olives and only had green olives. Normally, I’d have extra black olives.
Pizza ~ Homemade Pizza
Everything’s homemade except the pizza sauce (Ragù sauce plus tomato paste, reduced) and the Canadian bacon.
This was my second attempt at homemade pizza. I’m learning a lot and having a lot of fun each time. This is a supreme/deluxe style pizza, with enough ingredients piled on to make a deep dish pizza.
Pizza ~ Shejidan Green Sauce Pizza
Fans have been attempting to recreate their own version of the Shejidan Green Sauce Pizza seen in C.J. Cherryh’s Foreigner series. This is my first attempt. It’s pretty basic, using a basil pesto sauce as the base, with a little spinach and grated carrot, then on to traditional ingredients. A future attempt will get more exotic, a little spicier, and more flavorful.
My Grandmother’s old stove is a vintage O’Keefe and Merritt gas oven / stove / range, circa 1951. I intend to confirm the year, model, and options. It’s been in continuous use since my (step) Granddad got it for her, soon after they moved in their home. It is truly a monster, huge and hot, but boy, can it cook. One knob is broken, which you can see from the photos. I’m told one part needs replacement, but is working, and one burner has trouble lighting. My Grandmother’s standard comment now is, “I sure have cooked a lot on that stove!”
